2012 Texas State Championship Adventure Race Series categories
(We provide the inflatable boats, paddles, and life jackets):
Awards:
The top 10 teams in each division will be awarded at each individual race with trophies (3 deep) & medals (10 deep). The trophies will be unique for each of the 4 races, so if you place in all 4 races of the series, your trophies can be beautifully displayed on a customized stand that will be awarded to the state champions, or purchased by anyone else. In addition, we will have a raffle after every race to award prizes from our sponsors.
We will also award trophies to top 3 OVERALL finishers among the 2-person teams regardless of their category.
Series Champions: Compete in the Texas State Championship Series, where the top teams in each division will be crowned at the conclusion of the series. Teams receive points according to their finishing place in each individual race, with the best 3 out of the 4 finishes counting towards the State Title and overall standings (you must have completed in 2 races to be eligible). The winning team of each category of the Texas State Championship Series will receive a custom trophy stand to hold their series trophies and designating them as the 2012 state champion. We also typically give out a special prize to our biggest category. (for instance: the 2009 coed state champions received a pair of cool cruiser bikes. 2010 & 2011 state champions for coed and male received kuat hitch racks! )
Texas Club/Team Championship: Individual teams may represent a club or racing team in the Texas club/team championship. There is no fee for this. Team/clubs will accumulate points for the finishing positions of their individual teams in their quest to take home the Texas team/club championship trophy. Be sure to select your team or club when registering for each event, if you want to earn points for them.
Kid's Races: This is getting big, and is loads of fun! All races of the series will have a kid's race. Kid's races are free, usually last just a few minutes, and include a run and possible mystery event with plenty of cheering from the racers. Parents are allowed to race with the younger kids. All kid's receive a finishing award and a race singlet for exhibiting the courage to compete - plus they'll love it!
Refund Policy
No refunds under any circumstances. Wait! Well maybe. We at Terra Firma understand that things change, sometimes out of your control and we never want to rip anyone off. But please understand that we make a considerable investment in shirts, awards, dumpsters, porta potties, land use fees, Course setup and a host of other expenses to put a race on. We know your one fee doesn’t affect this number, but if we don’t have a policy and stick to it, where do we ever draw the line?
We think we’ve come up with a pretty liberal policy and hope you agree:
